The Train

So, I thought Alena would have fun riding the train behind Santa at the mall on Christmas Eve day with her friend Bode. She didn't like it at first or during the ride, but afterward if you asked her she loved it!

Making Cookies with Grandmama

Alena tried making sugar cookies with grandmama. She made her hand cutout and then she was done.

Alena's 1st "real" haircut

I took Alena to get her first "real" haircut. I wanted the girls to pick out ornaments for Christmas so we went to Target first. Alena picked an ornament that had fake snow in it. She was playing with it quietly in the car until I realized she had gotten all the fake snow out of the ornament and it was all over the car! She did ok for the haircut. Here are before, during and after pics.

Early Christmas Present

I was getting ready to leave for Nederland (Aman's home town) for his Samina's graduation. I walked outside for a minute to load up the car when I heard the front door close. I walked over to open the door and discovered I was locked out. Alena, the smarty had locked me out. I tried to explain how to open the lock, but she was too upset. She started to cry and so did I. Luckily I had my phone so I called Aman, who was in North Austin. He rushed home in 15 minutes. I was singing to Alena by the back door where I taught her the hooky pooky. She did great!

Samaya is rolling over. She can get herself out of the Bumbo and can sit in a tripod stance. She is way too advanced. She always has a smile on her face.

Alena can count to 25 (when she wants to). She is starting to learn colors. She is so smart! She is already hitting the "terrific two's" - lucky me...

Almost Christmas

Alena is too cute in these leggings...

She is having so much fun looking at Christmas books and Christmas trees and seeing all the decorations. She loves it all. I can't wait for Christmas day because I know she is really going to blown away. Samaya just goes with the flow. She is such an easy baby. She makes it so easy to love her.

Vacation Time

Aman and I took a vacation to Vegas. I gave that to him for a gift for our 5th anniversary. That meant that Alena and Sayama had to stay here with family. I was a bit worried about it because Samaya is only 4 months old. Tammy took care of her and she did great! My mom and Brandi and Joseph watched Alena. She had a blast with both of them. We went with Aman's sister and brother-in-law. We had so much fun. We saw "Phantom" and a magic show and ate at great restaurants. Alena is talking a lot now. I understand almost everything she is saying. She is super smart. She sings songs to me every day. We love having dance parties together too. Samaya is a doll. She is always smiling. She is advancing quickly. She pulls up on her hands, rolls over - all the way. Today I watched her pull up on her knees...almost ready to crawl. The holiday's are almost here. We had our Holiday party, which was so much fun. Alena slept in our room and did great. Our Christmas photo didn't work out, but I was able to use a photo Brandi took from the Christmas party. It's been a wonderful year 2009!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had Thanksgiving at my parents house and then the next day we went to Houston to see his family and go to my first wedding with the family. Samina and Shahana both got my outfits for the two events we went to. It was so much fun. Alena stayed with grandmama and papa and had a blast.

Alena Saylor gets a sister - Nov. 23, 2009

Okay, so it's been awhile...Alena now has a sister named Samaya Brooklynn and she adores her. They are so cute together. Samaya is 3 months old. We go to Houston a lot to see family so we decided to buy a condo there. We just bought some cute furniture and had the inspection done. We should close late Dec or early Jan. Last weekend we took Alena to the Austin Zoo for the first time. She loved it and it was great weather. She didn't want to feed the animals, but I think she will get more courageous.

She also had a blast for Halloween. We went to Trent and Yvette's for dinner then to Jenn & Travis neighborhood to go trick or treating. We went for about 45 minutes and Alena did great. There was only one house that she was nervous about. She was scared of a mask that an old lady was wearing so she covered her eyes with her arm and stuck out her candy bucket and said "trick or treat" and "thank you." It was so cute. Alena was a pirate during the day and Samaya was a pumpkin. At night, Alena was a bunny and Samaya was a pink tiger. They were adorable.
